Urban Gourmet Farms' owner Hiram Ramirez spent years working in Charlotte’s fine dining kitchens, where he noticed that the mushrooms available through traditional broad liners were of a lower quality than those he could source locally. By growing mushrooms indoors in a climate-controlled space, Urban Gourmet Farms takes an organic and self-sustained no-spray approach to urban farming without the use of pesticides or chemicals. Hiram cultivates several different varieties at his facility in Waxhaw, NC, and brings them fresh to your table all year long.
